Bismarckia nobilis  

DESCRIPTION

A stately palm with large costa palmate blue green fronds up to 9 feet across.  Great specimen palm for large landscapes and open areas.  Slow indoors and requires bright light.   
 

ORIGIN: Madagascar

SUNLIGHT:  Best in full sun

DROUGHT TOLERANCE:  Tolerant but not resistant once established.   

HARDINESS ZONE:  9 to 11 (Rumor is the more silver the hardier)

SALT TOLERANCE: Lite to moderate

TYPICAL HEIGHT:  30 feet typical but up to 80 feet. 

GROWTH RATE:  moderate to fast
