Jelly Palm, Pindo Palm 

DESCRIPTION

Jelly palms have green/gray recurved pinnate fronds and are widely grown in warmer parts of the US. It is considered hardy down to about 10°F or USDA zone 8A. While they survive in south Florida, Jelly palms grow much better in cooler, less humid climates.   
 

ORIGIN: coastal plains, woodlands, and Cerrado savannas of Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina

SUNLIGHT: Full to part sun

DROUGHT TOLERANCE: Tolerant once established

HARDINESS ZONE: 8

SALT TOLERANCE: Weak

TYPICAL HEIGHT: 15-20 feet

GROWTH RATE: Slow
