Southern Red Cedar 

DESCRIPTION

Not a true Cedar but in the Juniper family.  This low maintenance tree makes a large privacy hedge, wind break or as a standalone tree in the landscape.  Can also be grown and used as a Christmas tree here in Florida.    
 

ORIGIN: Unsure but is widely distributed across the Southeast US

SUNLIGHT: Full to part sun

DROUGHT TOLERANCE: Tolerant once established

HARDINESS ZONE: 8+

SALT TOLERANCE: Moderate

TYPICAL HEIGHT: 30-40 feet

GROWTH RATE: Fast
