Description
The Dwarf Sugar Palm (Arenga engleri) is a beautiful, clumping feather palm native to Taiwan and the Ryukyu Islands of Japan. It is prized for its fragrant, toothed, dark green pinnate leaves, and unique clusters of purple-black fruit on orange to red inflorescences. This palm grows in dense clumps, forming a lush tropical look without becoming too tall, making it perfect for understory plantings, borders, and containers. It also emits a pleasant fragrance from its flowers and tolerates cooler temperatures better than many tropical palms.
