Description:

Brya ebenus is a small, slow-growing tropical hardwood tree native to the Caribbean, especially Jamaica and Cuba. It is highly valued for its extremely dense, dark wood, historically used for fine craftsmanship and musical instruments.

In the landscape, it forms a compact, rounded canopy with small, glossy green leaves and produces delicate bright yellow flowers that add subtle seasonal color. Its manageable size makes it suitable for small yards, patios, or as a specimen tree.
