Gaussia gomez-pompae is a rare, elegant palm native to limestone hills in southern Mexico (Chiapas and Veracruz). It features a solitary, slender trunk that swells near the base and arching, pinnate leaves with a graceful tropical appearance. Like other members of the Gaussia genus, this palm prefers well-drained soil and is adapted to karst (limestone) environments. Though still uncommon in cultivation, it is increasingly sought after for its ornamental beauty, drought tolerance, and resilience in subtropical to tropical climates.
