Pandanus amaryllifolius, commonly called Edible Pandan, is a tropical, clumping plant known for its long, blade-like green leaves that are intensely fragrant. Native to Southeast Asia, it is prized for culinary use in both sweet and savory dishes, often called the "vanilla of the East." Unlike other Pandanus species, this variety is nearly stemless and propagated through suckers. It is a must-have for tropical herb gardens and container culture in warm climates.
